Inez Lucille Nichols was born on December 10, 1921, in Wilder, Minnesota to the late Palmer and Ruth Marie (Rank) Swanson. She was baptized at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Windom and later confirmed there. Inez received all of her education at the Wilder Schoolhouse; graduating in the Class of 1939.
On September 25, 1955, Inez was united in marriage to Clinton Nichols at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Windom. This marriage was blessed with four children, Ruth, Clinton, Steven and Keith. Shortly after marriage, Inez and Clinton moved to Amo Township, Cottonwood County where they raised their family and made their home until 2002 when they moved into Windom. For thirty years, Inez worked at the Sears store in Windom until her retirement.
Recently, Inez's health began to decline and she became a resident of the Good Samaritan Society-Sogge Memorial in Windom where she passed away on Monday, February 18, 2013, at the age of 91 years.
Inez was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Windom. She will be remembered for her love of crossword and jigsaw puzzles, board games, latch hooking, baking for her loved ones and time spent with family.
Inez is survived by her husband, Clinton C. Nichols of Windom; four children, Ruth Majerus (David) of Lakefield; Clinton Nichols, Jr. (Judy) of Lakefield; Steven Nichols of Windom; Keith Nichols (Denise) of Lakefield; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and special companion, Muffy.
She is preceded in death by her parents , two sisters, Audrey Schmidt and Lila Mae Swanson, nephew Don Schmidt and great-granddaughter Jazmine.
