Daniel Kenneth Raverty, 90, of Windom, Minnesota died on Thursday, February 7, 2019 with his wife at his side at the Good Samaritan Society- Sogge Memorial in Windom. Dan was born in New Ulm, Minnesota to George and Mary (Baier) Raverty on November 22, 1928. Dan was baptized on December 2nd, 1928 in New Ulm and later confirmed at the Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Windom on January 29, 1950. On June 23rd, 1950 he was united in marriage to Helenn Ann Bretzlaff. This marriage was blessed with two daughters, Connie and Lori.

Dan worked for Iverson Transportation from 1946 until entering the Army in 1952. Upon returning home in 1954, he worked for Coop Oil Association, Nelson Motor, Larson 66, and Staple’s Oil delivering petroleum, where he retired in 1993. After retirement he drove gravel truck part-time for Windom Ready Mix.

Dan was a longtime member of the Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Windom where he ushered. He also helped with Meals on Wheels and was a member of the Heart Support Group and the Night Owls at the Sogge Home. Dan enjoyed his farm toys and hot wheels collection. He loved his great-grandchildren and would often pull out pictures to share with people. He enjoyed refinishing furniture and woodworking. He and Helenn attended many craft shows together.

Dan is survived by his wife of 68 years, Helenn; two daughters, Connie Raverty of Flandreau, SD, and Lori (Ken) Winters of Worthington; two grandchildren, Eric (Sarah) Winters of Bingham Lake, and Allison (Asa) Posner of Little Canada; three great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Kendrick, and Oliver Winters of Bingham Lake; seven siblings; Richard (Dorothy) Raverty of Windom, LaDonna Tyrell of Slayton, Ron (Ruth) Raverty of Windom, Patrick (Mary Lee) Raverty of Windom, Mary (Gordon) Skarset of Windom, David Raverty of Georgia, and Michael (Sharon) Raverty of Worthington.

Dan is preceded in death by his parents, George and Mary Raverty; brothers, Harold Raverty and Thomas Raverty; sisters, Dolores Ready, Beatrice Sitton, Dorothy Kruckeberg, and Elaine Morrison.
