Delores LaCanne, age 89, of Faribault, died Thursday, September 27, 2007 at the District One Hospital in Faribault.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, at Immaculate Conception, in Faribault. Interment will be held at the Calvary Cemetery, Faribault.
Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault on Monday from 4 to 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday for one hour prior to services. Parish prayers and a time of sharing will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Monday evening.
The family prefers that memorials be directed to Bethlehem Academy or the donor's choice.
Delores Blais, the daughter of Albert and Catherine (O'Neil) Blais, was born on January 23, 1918 in Faribault. She attended Bethlehem Academy and graduated with the class of 1936. On November 3, 1937 she was united in marriage to Joseph LaCanne at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Faribault. Joseph preceded her in death on October 13, 1983. Together they farmed the LaCanne homestead by Cedar Lake until moving to Faribault in June of 1982. Delores was an active member of Divine Mercy Catholic Church, participating in Mission Sewing, the Council of Catholic Women and volunteering cleaning the church. Delores was a caring and loving person who loved spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived and beloved by her ten loving children; Dianna Lindenfelser and special friend Francis Dubois of Mesa, AZ, Joseph (Barb) LaCanne of Windom, MN, Rita (Joseph) Schimek of Mankato, MN, Cathy (Bill) Stevermer of Easton, MN, Elaine LaCanne O.P. of Minneapolis, MN, Fr. Stephen LaCanne of Minneapolis, Susan (Bruce) Burkhartzmeyer of Faribault, Al (Kathy) LaCanne of Tempe, AZ, Mary Ann LaCanne of Faribault and Mark (Therese) LaCanne of Maple Grove, MN; by 32 grandchildren and 65 great grandchildren; by a sister, Teresa (Bob) Ballentine of Northfield, MN; by a brother, Leonard (Emily) Blais of Faribault and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, Mike LaCanne and two sisters, Beatrice Kern and Mildred Paquette.
