Edward O. Daehlin was born Nov. 25, 1917 at Woonsocket, South Dakota the son of the late Pastor Ole E. and Thea (nee Furuseth) Daehlin.
He spent his early years in DeSmet, South Dakota. He attended school at DeSmet and Augustana Academy of Canton, South Dakota. He also attended Waldorf College and the University of Minnesota.
Ed served in the US Army Air Corps during World War II in Europe.
Ed lived in Storden for many years and had been a member of the American Legion for over 50 years.
He was a member of Highwater Lutheran Church near Lamberton for many years.
Ed passed away on Saturday morning, November 13, 2010, at the Good Samaritan Society in Westbrook at the age of 92.
He is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Ann and Robert Dinkelspiel of Memphis, Tennessee; four grandchildren Hallie, Helen, Hilary and Robert Jr; two sisters Lucile Doyle of Coon Rapids; Agnes Hite of West Dundee, Illinois; two brothers, Pastor Robert (Valeria) Daehlin of Bloomingon; Olaf (Marlee) Daehlin of Monticello; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Joseph.
