Gladys Lillian Hemiller daughter of Otto and Emma (Ebert) Siemsglusz was born at Bingham Lake, MN on January 6, 1922. She was baptized and confirmed in the Trinity Lutheran Church at Mountain Lake, MN. She received her education in a country school in Delton Township and later at DeLyer Beauty School in Fairmont, MN. On November 5, 1942, Gladys was united in marriage to Floyd Hemiller in Miami, Florida. She worked at a beauty shop in Florida until Floyd went overseas. Gladys returned to Minnesota and worked at a beauty shop in Windom. After Floyd was discharged from the army, they farmed east of Jeffers. In 1980 they moved into Jeffers where she resided in her home until 2014. Following a fall in her home she resided in Valley View Manor Nursing Home for four months at which time she moved into the Maples Assisted Living at Springfield, MN. This marriage was blessed with four children, Eileen (Jim) King of Windom; Judy Ripley of Luverne; Connie (Alan) Mattison of Belmond, IA; Roger (Darla) Hemiller of Jeffers. Gladys and Floyd spent twenty years wintering in Arizona where they enjoyed spending time with friends, dancing, and playing cards. Floyd passed away in 1996. Gladys continued wintering in Arizona until 2006. She was an active member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Jeffers and the Jeffers Senior Citizen Center where she enjoyed playing cards and scheduling the events. Gladys enjoyed weekly trips to the casino in Flandreau. Gladys was currently living at the Maples in Springfield, MN and due to a fall was taken to the St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield, Minnesota where she passsed away on Thursday evening, September 24, 2015 at the age of 93 years. Gladys is survived by her children, ten grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Floyd, sisters, Clara (Rhiney) Schucknecht, Esther (Walter) Schucknecht, Hulda (Elmer) Meyer, Alma (Jacob) Meier; brothers, Art Siemsglusz, Edward Siemsglusz; and son-in-law, Roger Missling.
