Horace H. Hall "Pappy" was born on December 2, 1927, in Artesian, South Dakota to the late James and Cecile (Bolton) Hall. He received his education in the rural schools of Jackson County, Minnesota. Horace enlisted in the United States Army on January 29, 1946, and was later discharged on March 22, 1947 having attained the rank of Corporal.
On June 26, 1950, Horace was united in marriage to Beverly Hage in Windom, Minnesota. This marriage was blessed with ten children, JoAnn, Jean, David, Daniel, Mark, Luther, Steven, Jonathan, Julie and Micah. After marriage, Horace and Beverly lived and raised their family in Lakefield. Later, this marriage was dissolved. Horace was a truck driver his whole life, he owned his own company and later did over the road trucking until retiring and moving to a hobby farm outside of Oakbena. Almost one year ago, Horace moved back to Lakefield and passed away at his home on Sunday, April 8, 2012, at the age of 84 years.
Horace was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Okabena; and a member of the Hanson-Ward VFW Post 4743 in Lakefield.
Horace will be remembered for being a loving father and grandfather who loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Horace is survived by his nine children, JoAnn (Roger) Bass of Elko; Jean (Mike) Hendrickson of Lakefield; David (Ruby) Hall of Apple Valley; Mark (Tammy) Hall of Windom; Luther (Dorie) Hall of Lakefield; Steven Hall of Lakefield; Jonathan Hall of Lakefield; Julie (Troy) Olson of Trimont; Micah (Gina) Hall of Graettinger, Iowa; 24 grandchildren, Shannon Borgen, Joshua Bass, Jason (Allison) Hendrickson Jesse (Jill) Hendrickson, Todd and Terry Hall, Justin (Nicole) Hall, Tyann (Shane) Marcy, Derick Hall, Nelson (Megan) Hall, Brady Hall, Logan and Kynna Hall, Jonathan Hall Jr., Martha, Hallie, Hannah, Miah, Max, and Hank Olson, Maddisen, Claudia, Camilla and Sullivan Hall; 16 great-grandchildren, Tyson Borgen, Alyssa, Ashley, Emma and Emerson Hendrickson, Cody, Mason, Riley and Sawyer Hall, Trevor, Peyton, Jasmine and Mia Hall, Raelyn and Lenin Marcy, and Zoey Hall; and many nieces and nephews.
Horace is preceded in death by his parents; one son, Daniel and Siblings- two brothers Jay and LaVern and four sisters, Opal, Agnes, Francis, and Faye.
