Lambert "Bert" Sudenga was born on June 25, 1957 in Luverne, Minnesota to Peter and Marilyn (Wieck) Sudenga. He received his education in the Magnolia, Minnesota schools; graduating in the Class of 1975. Bert then moved to Jackson, Minnesota where he met Jan while working at Ag-Chem. On April 23, 1977, Bert was united in marriage to Janet Ihrke at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lakefield, Minnesota. This marriage was blessed with two children, Luke and April. After marriage, Bert continued to work at Ag-Chem (now known as Ag-Co) and farmed during this time too. In his later years, Bert worked for Lift-Pro in Jackson until his retirement in August of 2017. Shortly after his retirement, Bert was diagnosed with prostate cancer. He fought the disease courageously and was placed in hospice care earlier this week at the Ava's House in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He passed away there on Wednesday, September 12, 2018, with his family at his side, at the age of 61 years. Bert was a member of the American Lutheran Church in Windom and former member of Our Redeemer in Jackson. Bert was a devoted husband, loving father, who enjoyed time with his family, especially with the grandchildren. He enjoyed cars, especially Mustangs and antique tractors. Bert is survived by his wife of forty-one years, Janet Sudenga of Alpha; two children, Luke (Kristin) Sudenga of Sioux Falls, SD; April (Daniel) Myers of Windom; three grandchildren, Kurtis, Rose and Britnee; mother, Marilyn Sudenga of Windom; two sisters, Vicky (Lonnie) Stenersen of Colman, SD; Julie (Kavin) Fisher Berry of Vermillion, SD; and many nieces and nephews. Bert is preceded in death by his father, Peter Sudenga. Blessed be the memory of Bert Sudenga. Private family service will be held.
