Louis Andrew Krumwiede was born on March 1, 1926, in Polk County, Wisconsin to Leonard and Anna (Loken) Krumwiede. Louis attended the Jackson County country school District #22 through the 8th grade. He enlisted in the Army in June of 1944 and served until January 1946 in World War II. After the war, Louis lived in Windom and farmed outside of Windom his entire life. In 2007, Louis moved into the Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Lakefield, Minnesota. Louis was a member of the American Legion for over 20 years and he loved animals and being outside. Louis passed away Sunday morning, March 15, 2009, at the Sanford Hospital in Jackson, Minnesota at the age of 83. He is survived by two sisters, Bernice Amundson of Windom, and Gladys Hanson and her husband, Harlan, of Lino Lakes; many nieces and nephews, Michael, Terry, Kathy, Roger, Sandra, Linda, Sharon and Darrel; and several other relatives and friends.
