Marilyn Haugh was born on August 10, 1967 in Minneapolis, MN. She lived in a foster home in Wayzata, MN before moving to Home for Creative Living on October 20, 1977. She then moved to PRL 4 on July 31, 1995 where she lived until her passing. Marilyn was baptized on August 14, 1988 at the American Lutheran Church in Windom. Marilyn attended the Windom Area School district and graduated with the Class of 1988. After graduation, Marilyn worked at the Cottonwood County DAC until May 28, 2002 when she retired due to health reasons. Marilyn will be remembered most for her incredible smile, her "princess" personality and her sense of humor. Marilyn seemed to enjoy a happy life. She loved to go shopping. She liked to have her hair done and to have her nails done. She enjoyed socializing and spending time with friends. She liked to go to musicals and to concerts. She also liked to travel, going to places such as Florida, Missouri, Wisconsin and the Black Hills. Marilyn also loved to read the bible and enjoyed attending church. Marilyn passed away on September 20, 2015 at the Windom Area Hospital. She was preceded in death by roommates, Chuck Keltgen, Randy Johannsen, Judy Varholdt and a close friend known to her as Grandma Doris (Doris Knake). She is survived by two roommates, Greg Knott and Jocob Swenson, and the rest of her family at PRL 4 and many close friends. Marilyn will be greatly missed by all who knew her and will always be in our thoughts and prayers.
