Obituary

Marjorie Ella Barbee was born on July 27, 1922, in Corning, Iowa to Walter and Gladys (Walton) Cooper. She received her education from the Long Beach Poly High School with the Class of 1940. Marjorie lived in Corning until 1931 and then moved to Long Beach, California. On June 22, 1940, Marjorie was united in marriage to Herman A. Barbee in Reno, Nevada. This marriage was blessed with two children, Lynn and Scott. After their marriage Marjorie and Herman lived in Long Beach where Marjorie was a homemaker. Herman passed away on October 25, 2000, in Lakewood, California. In November 2008, Marjorie moved into the Good Samaritan Society –the Village in Mountain Lake, Minnesota. Marjorie passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2009, at the Worthington Regional Hospital in Worthington, Minnesota at the age of 86. Marjorie enjoyed cross-stitching, traveling, reading, coloring, taking cruises and especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Marjorie is survived by one daughter, Lynn B. Keeling of Mountain Lake; three grandchildren, Kristie Dalton and her husband, Ron, of Mountain Lake, Jill Ramos of Mountain Lake, and Sam Barbee and his wife, Antoinette, of Ireland; five great-grandchildren, Brianna Ramos, Ben Dalton, Laura Dalton, Matthew Barbee, and Eoin Barbee. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Herman; one son, Scott C. Barbee; and one brother, Steve W. Cooper. A private burial will be held at a later date in Whittier, California.
