Minnie Ella Elsing, the daughter of the late Edward and Paula (Luedtke) Fruehling was born on May 4, 1932, in Morgan, Minnesota. She was baptized on May 29, 1932, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Morgan and later confirmed on April 14, 1946, at the St. John's Lutheran Church in Germantown Township, Cottonwood County, Minnesota. She received her education in District 35 of Germantown Township and later graduated from Jeffers High School in the Class of 1950. Minnie was united in marriage to Harold Elsing on March 30, 1951, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Germantown Township. This marriage was blessed with two children, Brian and Sharon. They farmed north of Jeffers until 1981 when they moved into Jeffers. Harold passed away in 1996. One year ago, Minnie was diagnosed with cancer and recently became a resident of the St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield where she passed away peacefully, with her family at her side on Friday evening, November 8th, 2013, at the age of 81 years. Minnie was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Jeffers where she was involved in various church activities. She also was involved in her community as a member of the Jeffers Lion's Club. Minnie is survived by her two children, Brian Elsing of Orange, California; Sharon (David) Vollmer of Lamberton; four grandchildren, Courtney (Justin), Travis, Brian Michael, and Jacob; one great-granddaughter, Abigial; one brother, Andrew Fruehling (Dolores) of Sanborn; two nephews and one niece. Minnie is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold Elsing; and one infant brother. Blessed be the memory of Minnie Ella Elsing.
