Myrtle Lucille Stroud, daughter of Henry and Christina (Jensen) Erickson was born April 13, 1909 in Winsted, Minnesota. The family moved to Hutchinson, Minnesota where she attended school and graduated in 1927. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.
She graduated from Miss Woods Kindergarten and Training School in 1929 and later attended the University of Minnesota. She taught in Minnesota schools prior to her marriage.
On October 9, 1943, she was married to Charles Edward Stroud in Trinity Episcopal Church in Litchfield, Minnesota. They made their home in Windom, Minnesota. Charles died September 7, 1973. Myrtle moved to Remick Ridge on October 16, 1998 and to the Sogge Good Samaritan Society in 2004 where she lived until passing away on Sunday evening, July 4, 2010 at the age of 101.
Myrtle was a member of the Good Shepherd Episcopal Church and past president of its Guild. She was a past president of the Tourist Club and Women's Investment Club, a Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star, and a Red Cross Gray Lady for many years.
She is survived by several relatives and a special friend, Margaret Juhnke of Windom.
She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Charles.
