Neal Van Norman, son of Glen and Julia (Eldridge) Van Norman, was born November 26, 1942, in Windom, Minnesota. He died on February 26, 2009 at the age of 66 at his home in Milford, Iowa. Neal was raised in Windom, Minnesota. He attended Windom Area High School, where he graduated. He graduated from Mankato Vocational in the trade of tool and dye-making. He was married to Sharon Smith on August 4, 1962. They lived in Mankato, Minnesota. He worked for Midwest Electric shortly after that. After their divorce, he married Marie Loudermilk on August 15, 1969, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Following their marriage they lived in Mankato, St. James, Loveland, Colorado, and then back to St. James in 1984. He was employed by St. Industries in St. James and CSM Manufacturing while living in Loveland, Colorado. After Marie's death in 1995, he continued to live in St. James. He met Deb Metler and moved to Milford, Iowa in 2004, where he worked at Ferguson Manufacturing in Spirit Lake, Iowa. He was a charter member of the Moose Lodge of Mankato and Fraternal Order of Eagle's in St. James and Fort Collins, Colorado. He enjoyed collecting Budweiser beer steins, antiquing, and going to auctions. He was an avid NASCAR, Vikings, and Twins fan. He loved to shoot pool and his newest pastime was casinos. Neal is survived by his life partner, Deb Mettler of Milford, IA; children, Troy Van Norman of Glendale, AZ, Tammy Van Norman and her special friend, Brian Drusch of Sioux Falls, SD, Jodi Hintgen and her husband, Bill, of Waconia, MN, Angela Lepp of St. James, Steve Pigman and his wife, Gail, of Fort Meyers, FL, Loren Pigman and his wife, Barbie, of Avon by the Sea, NJ, and Neal Pigman of Mankato; 21 grandchildren; 8 great- grandchildren; three brothers, Donnie Van Norman and his wife, Millie, of Panama City, FL, Lee Van Norman of Mille Lacs, Duane Van Norman and his wife, JoAnn, of Windom; one sister, Lois Ahrens and her husband, Gerald, of Sun Lakes, AZ; and several other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife, Marie; his parents, Glen and Julia Van Norman; one grandson, Kalen Van Norman; and one great-grandson, Preston Linschied. Blessed be the memory of Neal Van Norman.
