Owen LeRoy Green, the son of Kinney and Jessie (Klinger) Green was born on June 25, 1931, in Mountain Lake, Minnesota. He attended country school near Mountain Lake and worked on the family farm. He made his profession of faith on June 18, 1950.
On June 18, 1952, he was united in marriage to Clarlyn May Rutgers in the Worthington Christian Reformed Church. They farmed in the Mountain Lake area until retirement in 1996; moving to Windom in 1997. Owen was a member of the Mountain Lake Christian Reformed Church where he served on the church board as deacon. He attended the Evangelical Free Church since moving to Windom and became a member in January of 2013. In the past, he enjoyed walking, having coffee at McDonald's with the guys, TV sports and going for rides in the country.
On Wednesday, January 2, 2019, Owen passed away at the Windom Area Hospital in Windom at the age of 87 years.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of sixty-six years, Clarlyn Green of Windom; two daughters, Elaine (Richard) Batzlaff of Plymouth and their children, Philip (Angela) and Matthew; Mary (Mark) Kispert of Mountain Lake and their children, Michael and Margaret; one son, Stanley (Sallie) Green of Willmar and their children, Mindy, Anna, Daniel (Julie); seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lois (Robert) Mellema of Minnetonka; Janice (Jerry) Evers of Comfrey; one brother, Richard (Shirley) Green of Mountain Lake; one sister-in-law, Ella Green of Mountain Lake; and many nieces and nephews.
Owen is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Warren (Helen), Laurence (Eunice) and Donald (Roseann).
