Robert "Bob" Lee Hines was born on July 20, 1943, in Peoria, Illinois to the late Dean Orville and Goldie Marie (Houghton) Hines. He was baptized at the Stitzer Methodist Church in Stitzer, Wisconsin. Bob received his education in country school in Wisconsin and country school in Dale Township, Cottonwood County before graduating from Windom High School in the Class of 1961. In 1954, Bob came to make his home with Siebo and Gertrude Saathoff (rural Windom) as a young boy. A year later, his sister, Betty, came to live with them as well. Bob served his country in the United States Navy from 1961 until being honorably discharged in 1963. On March 20, 1965, Bob was united in marriage to Beverly Ann Temlitz at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Rost Township, rural Lakefield. On January 30, 1966, Bob was confirmed at the Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Windom. After marriage, Bob and Bev lived for a short time in rural Windom before moving to their current home place in rural Bingham Lake. Throughout the years, Bob greatly enjoyed farming the land and milking dairy cows. He also enjoyed cutting wood, tinkering in the shed, softball and other sports with the family after chores, go carts, his grandchildren, and most of all Faith in God. On February, 24, 2016, Bob passed away unexpectedly in his home in rural Bingham Lake at the age of 72 years. Bob was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Jeffers. Bob is survived by his wife of fifty-years, Bev Hines of rural Bingham Lake; four children, Tammy (Jerome) Holtz of Bingham Lake; Laura Balbach of Mankato; Cherie (John) Lindman of Big Lake; Todd (Teresa) Hines of Windom; 13 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; brothers and sisters, Louie Hines of Lancaster, WI; Willis (Dorothy) Hines of Rochester; Betty (Arnold) Haack of Windom; Ronald (Irene) Hines of Mora; Carol (Richard) Caley of Lancaster, WI; Larry Hines of LaValle, WI; Mary (James) Kazda of DeForest, WI; Bonnie Weils of Cincinnati, OH; Duane Findley of Proctor; and several nieces and nephews. Bob is preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Hilda Hines; Siebo and Gertrude Saathoff; and two brothers Terry Hines and Dean Findley.
