William "Bill" F. Junker, Jr. was born on May 13, 1937 in Mountain Lake, Minnesota to the late William F. and Esther R. (Van Gerpen) Junker. He was baptized at the Missionary Alliance Church in Mountain Lake as a teen. Bill received his education in the Comfrey Public Schools; graduating in the Class of 1955. On August 18, 1959, Bill was united in marriage to Sharon Mae Taylor at the Mountain Lake Parsonage. They made their home in Jeffers. Bill enlisted in the National Guard from 1955-1962 and during this time farmed with his dad until the sale of the farm in 1970. He then worked at TORO as a lead for thirty years until retiring in April of 2000. After his retirement, Bill and Sharon continued living in Jeffers until recently moving to Mikkelsen Manor in Windom. Late last week, Bill suffered a stroke and was placed in hospice care at the Good Samaritan Society-Sogge Memorial in Windom. He passed away there Monday morning, August 27, 2018, at the age of 81 years. Bill is survived by his wife of fifty-nine years, Sharon Junker of Jeffers; three children, Roger Junker (special friend Melanie) of Willmar; Karen (Randy) Vanklompenburg of Willmar; Mike (Heidi) Junker of Windom; four grandchildren, Alan and Andy Junker, McCoy and Nash Vanklompenburg; one sister, Janice Raverty of Eagan; and many nieces and nephews. Bill is preceded in death by his parents; father and mother-in-law, Sherm and Nona Taylor; and infant brother; and two brothers-in-law, Russ Hanish and Tom Raverty.
