Ann Bekx, age 88 passed away at her home surrounded by her family on January 18, 2016, following a short illness. Ann was born on November 12, 1927 in Mell, Netherlands to Jan and Trus Van der Ligt. Ann worked on the family's farm until she married Harry on April 22, 1954 in the Martel Netherlands. On May 7, 1954 Harry and Ann immigrated to Canada where Harry worked on a farm until they moved to the United States in 1955. They first lived in Iowa where Harry farmed until moving to Fulda, MN, in 1973. Harry and Ann worked together on their farm until retiring and moving to Windom, MN, in 2000. Ann loved living on the farm and raising three daughters. She enjoyed her many flower and vegetable gardens. She also enjoyed dancing, card playing, sewing and spending time with her family. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren. During Ann and Harry's married life they returned to the Netherlands five times and many of their family came for visits to the United States. She was a member of the Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Windom. She is survived by her husband, Harry Bekx of Windom; three daughters; Therese Bekx and Joe Zieske, of Fulda, MN; Lorraine (Doug) Lohse of Windom, MN; and Nancy Macgregor of Windom, MN; six grandchildren, Sean Wiles, of Novato, CA; Ashley Nagy of Sandpoint, ID; Michael Macgregor of Windom; Matt Macgregor of Windom; Kaitlyn Lohse of Windom; and Ryan Lohse of Windom; brothers; Wim, Pete, Gerard, Martin; sisters, Rick, Meit and Gerda from the Netherlands; brother and sister-in-law's Ben, Gerard, Jo and Laura from the Netherlands; two sister-in-law's, Nellie and Liz from Wisconsin; along with many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Tony, John, Harrie and Theo. Blessed be the memory of Ann Bekx.
