Arlene Ozel (Batalden) Burbank was born on December 20, 1921, to Ole and Anna (Quam) Batalden on the family farm in Highwater Township, Cottonwood County, MN. She was baptized on January 29, 1922, at the Highwater Lutheran Church and was later confirmed there on May 24, 1936. Arlene received her early education at District 3 Highwater Township country school and later graduated in 1939 from Lamberton High School. She then attended business college and graduated in 1941. On May 13, 1978, Arlene was united in marriage to Stanley Kenneth Burbank in Windom, MN. The couple lived in Windom and enjoyed 11 years of marriage, until Stanley passed away on February 6, 1990. Until retiring in 1984, Arlene worked as the Deputy County Recorder for Cottonwood County for 28 years. On June 12, 1996, Arlene moved to Remick Ridge in Windom, and she moved to Mickelson Manor in March of 2015. In 2017, she moved to the Good Samaritan Society Sogge Memorial, where she resided until her passing on Thursday, April 14, 2022, at the age of 100 years and 115 days. Arlene was a member of the Sons of Norway, RSVP, AARP, and the Cottonwood County Historical Society. Arlene was active in the American Lutheran Church in Windom. She volunteered as a Sunday school teacher, and she held various offices for ALCW. Arlene is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Arlene was preceded in death by her husband, Stan K. Burbank; her parents, Ole and Anna Batalden; brothers, Clement, Norris, and Vernon Batalden; and sisters, Bernice Erlandson and Cora C. Brand.
