Obituary

A Celebration of Life Visitation for Arnold "Arnie" Henning, age 82, of Jackson, will be held Saturday, November 11, 2023, from 4:00 – 6:00 PM at the LaCanne Family Celebration of Life Center in Jackson.

Arnold Martin Henning was born to the late Martin and Ella (Dunse) Henning on February 22, 1941, in Mountain Lake, Minnesota. Arnie was baptized and later confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Kimball Township. He began his education in country school and graduated from Jackson High School with the class of 1959. After graduation, Arnie continued his education in Omaha, Nebraska studying auto mechanics.

Arnie was united in marriage to Jane Kay Boell at the United Methodist Church in Jackson on October 24, 1964. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Molly and Brad. Together they raised their family on an acreage north of Jackson until building a house on their farm in Enterprise Township in 1978. In 2010, Jane and Arnie moved into Jackson.

Arnie was a lifelong farmer. Over the years he cherished the opportunity to farm, even more so when this included Brad, Mackenzie, Samantha and Isabelle. On and off the farm, Arnie had a special knack for building and repairing. He utilized his education and skills working at Tufvesson Ford in Jackson, teaching auto mechanics at Windom High School and as the head of maintenance at Pioneer in Jackson.

Arnie was an example of faith for his family. An active member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Jackson, Arnie served his church as a lay minister, council member and taught Sunday School.

Above all, Arnie loved being with his family. He enjoyed any opportunity to spend time with his three granddaughters, countless meals at the farm and Thursday night suppers with Molly.

Arnie passed away on Monday, November 6, 2023, at the Sanford Jackson Hospital at the age of 82 years.

Left to cherish Arnie's memory are his children, Molly Hunt of Jackson; Brad (Ann) Henning of Jackson; three grandchildren, Mackenzie, Samantha, and Isabelle Henning; one brother, Fred Henning of rural Lakefield; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.

Arnie is preceded in death by his loving wife, Jane Henning; parents, Martin and Ella Henning; sisters, Elaine (Bob) McDeid and Lois (James) Miller; parents-in-law Louis and Lydia Boell; sister-in-law, Arlyce Henning.

Blessed be the memory of Arnie Henning.
