A graveside service for Barbara "Barb" Elizabeth Culbertson, age 78, of Jackson, will be held at 1:30 PM on Friday, November 7th, at Riverside Cemetery in Jackson.

Barb passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 12th at her home in Jackson.

Barbara "Barb" Elizabeth Culbertson was born on December 27, 1946, to Allen and Tressie Dunford in Dodge County, Minnesota. Barb was baptized and later confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Ringsted, Iowa.

Barb was blessed with two daughters, Renay and Ronda. She worked as a dispatcher at the Jackson County Law Enforcement center until retirement, and later worked at Berkely Pure Fishing in Spirit Lake, Iowa.

Anyone that knew Barb knew she was a jokester, and loved to tell stories, in hopes of making people laugh. Barb had a huge heart and would give you the shirt off her back. She was a true family person and loved her family more than anything.

In Barb's free time she enjoyed tending to her garden, canning vegetables, fishing, camping, deer hunting, and bird watching.

Barb is survived by her daughter, Renay (Brian) Hellickson; grandchildren, Megan, Brandyn, and Curtis; son-in-law, Russell Boekemeier; siblings, Jerry Dunford of Albert Lea, Bonnie Cummins of Ringsted, IA, Betty Cromwell of Jackson, and Marvin (Diane) Dunford of Phoenix, AZ; as well as many special friends who helped and cared for her.

Barb is preceded in death by her daughter Ronda Boekemeier; longtime companion, Leonard Rowe; parents, Allen and Tressie Dunford; siblings, Richard (Maggie) Dunford, Art (Marlene) Dunford, Arliss Crandall, and Francis Dunford.
