A Celebration of Life Service for Barbara Drahota, age 89, of Jackson, will be held at the LaCanne Family Celebration of Life Center in Jackson on Tuesday, December 30th, at 11:00 AM, with a time of visitation and gathering for one hour prior to the service. Private family burial will take place at Miller Cemetery in rural Jackson.

Barbara Lou (Miller) Drahota was born to Lewis and Stella (Erickson) Miller in Jackson, Minnesota on November 24th, 1936. She was baptized and confirmed at The First Presbyterian Church in Jackson. Barb attended and graduated from Jackson High School in the Class of 1954.

Barb met the love of her life, Harry Drahota Jr, and were united in marriage on February 28th, 1957, in Jackson. This union was blessed with three children: Randy, Patti, and Dean.

Barb had a plethora of jobs including Jackson County Human Services, Casey's General Store, and Dekalb Seed's. When she wasn't working, she was an avid Minnesota Vikings and a sprint car racing fan.

As past president of the VFW Auxiliary, Barb dedicated much of her time to local service organizations. Her volunteer work included many years running the in-field concession stand at the Jackson VFW Speedway as well as participating in the American Legion Auxiliary.

Barb Drahota passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 24th, 2025, at the Good Samaritan Society in Jackson.

Barb's memory will live on in those who loved her the most, children, Randy (Lisa) Drahota of Jackson, Patti (Chuck) Schmidtke of Coppell, Texas, Dean (Kellie) Drahota of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; eight grandchildren, Josh Drahota, Kara Polz, Zach Drahota, Adam Schmidtke, Traci Schmidtke Young, Brittni Drahota, Brooklyn Drahota, Makenzie Drahota; 15 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.

Barb is preceded in death by her husband, Harry Drahota Jr; parents, Lewis and Stella Miller, brother, Jim Miller, parents-in-law, Harry and Julia Drahota Sr.
