Barbara Ann Axford was born on August 16, 1955, in Windom, Minnesota to the late Charles and Emily (Schaffer) Axford. Barbara attended Windom Area Public School graduating in the class of 1973. She continued her education at Jackson Vo-Tech to become a Certified Nursing Assistant and Certified Medication Administrator. Barbara really enjoyed her job and loved helping people. Barbara loved working on crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles, and she was an avid collector of penguins. Barbara was a fighter and fought hard against cancer. Barbara peacefully passed away on Thursday, October 21, 2021, at her sister, Kitty's residence in Windom, surrounded by her loving family. Barbara is survived by her mother, Emily Axford of Windom; four siblings, Margaret Svoboda, Floyd (Barbara) Axford of Windom, Katherine (Jens) Hansen of Windom, and Bruce Axford of Windom. Barbara is preceded in death by her father, Charles Axford.
