Barbara Jeanne Madson was born in Albert Lea, Minnesota on December 30, 1934, to Oldus (Fat) and Ardella (Iverson) Madson. Barb graduated from Jackson High School in 1952. In February of 1953, she married classmate Bob Ringgenberg
During the early years of marriage, Bob and Barb lived in Jackson. In 1957, they moved to their first farm near Petersburg. At that time Barb started her role as a farm wife. She would do livestock chores while Bob worked off the farm. She also would do her daily in-house chores with each weekday doing a specific task. In the earlier years she and Bob would entertain card parties and visit with neighbors. She also embroidered towels and baptism blankets. Dancing was a favored past time for her and Bob. Later, she played golf, women's and couples league. She enjoyed her grandkids and great grandkids a great deal. Barbara loved the holidays. She took great pride in keeping house in the home that Bob and she built. They also looked forward to their yearly trips to Texas in the winter.
As a longtime member of Union State Line Church, she was a Bible and Sunday school teacher along with a member of the church circle. She was a board member of the women's golf league. She was a member of the Legion and VFW, Relay for Life and Cemetery Board. Barb loved mowing lawn (the church lawn and her own) and the ditch between her home and the neighbors.
