Beatrice was united in marriage to Reinhold Steen in Heron Lake on April 6, 1941. Together they lived in Heron Lake for a year before moving to a farm with her grandfather. They farmed by Westbrook, Dundee, and Heron Lake then moved to the Windom area in 1948 on a farm. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Richard and Ruth.
Beatrice worked at the Wolff Store in Windom for 27 years. She belonged to the Driftwood Supper Club bowling team. She loved to garden, can, and freeze fruits and vegetables. Reinhold and Beatrice enjoyed getting together with the neighbors.
In November of 1996, they moved to Prairie View apartments in Heron Lake due to Rhine's health. He passed away in 1997. Beatrice joined the Senior Citizens and enjoyed playing canasta and pinochle and having Jean's catered dinners. She was a member of the American Lutheran Church of Windom. She enjoyed going to the 5:30 PM service on Saturday so she could hear better. In the winter, when she didn't drive much, she would listen to the radio. Beatrice put a lot of jigsaw puzzles together in the community room at the apartments.
In April of 2018, she moved to Windom with her daughter and her husband, Ron. When she couldn't get around as well, Pastor Adam and Pastor Sarah would come to see her. She would say, "God Bless them".
