Ben was born on March 26, 1978, and was raised on a farm near Lakefield, Minnesota. From an early age, he embraced an active lifestyle and a competitive spirit. Throughout his youth, he excelled in football, basketball, and track before discovering a passion for Taekwondo and Muay Thai kickboxing.

After graduating from Mankato State University in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science degree, Ben continued his education at the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse, where he earned a master's degree in physical therapy. He went on to build a rewarding career as a physical therapist in Phoenix, Arizona, where he was known for his compassion, professionalism, and genuine dedication to his patients. Caring for others was more than a career, it was his calling, and he took great pride in helping people regain strength and improve their quality of life.

Outside of work, Ben enjoyed spending time outdoors, staying active at the gym, caring for his beloved dogs, and sharing laughter with family and friends. He had a kind heart, a generous spirit, and an infectious sense of humor that brightened the lives of those around him.

Benjamin Johnson passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, July 8, 2026.

Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Gloria Van Voorst; his stepfather, Wayne; his brothers, Steve (Wendy, and their children Alayna, Greta & Jake) Johnson and Joe (Krista, and their daughters Nettie & LoLo) Johnson; his stepbrother, Mike (Melanie); his stepsister, Kim (Dustin); and many other relatives and dear friends.

Ben will be remembered for his compassionate heart, his unwavering dedication to serving others, and the joy he brought to those fortunate enough to know him. His legacy of kindness, strength, and generosity will live on in the countless lives he touched.
