A Celebration of Life Service to honor the life of Benjamin "Ben" Marthaler, age 40, of Jackson, will be held Saturday, October 5th at 1:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Jackson, with Pastor Nathan Janzen officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery.

A time of visitation and gathering will be held on Friday, October 4th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at LaCanne Family Celebration of Life Center in Jackson. Visitation will continue on Saturday, October 5th at the First Baptist Church in Jackson for one hour prior to the service.

On September 25th, 2024 a beautiful soul was tragically lost.

Benjamin David Marthaler was born on May 13th, 1984 in Worthington, MN. He was raised on an acreage in Jackson, MN with his parents and three siblings. As the youngest of four children, he always had a wild, free spirit and a loveable personality. In his childhood days he could be found playing with his ninja turtles, sledding on the "giant", ripping it up on the hockey rink and driving way too fast on his crotch rocket while popping a wheelie. He was a talented guitar player and was always drawing and doodling. After high school he followed in the footsteps of the family when he completed the Power Lineman Program at Rosemount Technical College and began working as a Lineman. He was a hard, dedicated worker and proud to serve alongside his brothers in the trade.

The greatest accomplishment of his life, however, came with the birth of his two daughters Ella and Sydney. They were his whole world and sparked a light within him that nothing and no one else could. He lit up when they were near and was extremely proud of the young ladies they were becoming. He boasted of their achievements, whether big or small. His brown eyes, big smile, freckles, witty humor and loving heart will forever live on in them.

Ben was almost always smiling or trying to make others smile. His heart was big, and he encouraged fun whenever he could. The "cool" uncle, always had a way of connecting with any littles. You could find him at the kids table sucking down capri suns and getting everyone to chant "One More Night!" So the fun just wouldn't end. That adventure seeking spirit often led to mischief as we all know. Despite his wild side, he thrived on the little moments, like taking his girls fishing; for a ride in the side by side or snuggling up for a good movie night.

Grateful for the opportunity to have shared his life are his daughters, Ella and Sydney Marthaler; former wife, Lindsey Larsen; parents, Joe and Nancy Marthaler; brother, Shawn (Jessica) Marthaler; sister, Angela Marthaler; and brother, Jake (Jen) Marthaler; along with many nieces and nephews; a large extended family and good friends who loved him like family. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gayle and Maurice Marthaler, and Frank and Shirley Weierke.

Benjamin had no idea how many lives he has impacted, how many truly loved him and how many will miss his beautiful smile, infectious laugh and generous heart.

Revelation 21:4 states, "He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning nor crying nor pain any more, for the former things have passed away
