Betty
Boid
Feb 6, 1947 — May 25, 2026
A Celebration of Life Visitation for Betty Boid, age 79, of Donnelly, formerly of Jackson, will be held at Our Saviors Lutheran Church of Jackson, on Saturday, June 6, 2026, from 9:00 to 11:00 AM. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Jackson immediately following the visitation.
Betty Beatta Boid was born on February 6, 1946, to Stanley and Fern Johnson in Jackson, Minnesota. A woman of deep faith, she was a dedicated member of Grace Lutheran Church in Brandon, Minnesota, where she regularly attended services and church events until her health declined.
Betty was incredibly caring, affectionate, and happiest when surrounded by her family. She channeled her love for them into her creative passions, spending countless hours quilting and sewing Afghans, often alongside her church groups. When she wasn't crafting, Betty could usually be found reading mystery books by Danielle Steel and other favorite authors, or spending time with her beloved cats.
Civic-minded and dedicated to her community, Betty took great pride in serving as a local voting judge for Stevens County in Donnelly, Minnesota, enjoying the opportunity to greet neighbors and support the democratic process. Of all times of the year, she especially loved Christmas and deeply treasured everything it represented—the celebration of faith, the warmth of family, and the spirit of selfless giving.
Betty passed away peacefully on Monday, May 25, 2026, at the Stevens Community Medical Center in Morris, Minnesota.
Left to cherish her memory is her devoted husband, Jim Boid of Donnelly, MN; her children, Scott Herberg of Tulsa, OK, Terri (William) Jandera of Lakefield, MN; three cherished grandchildren, Jonathan Jandera and Casey (Amanda) Jandera of Lakefield, MN, Jessica (Adam) Crissinger of Alpha, MN; sister, Linda (Charles) Spiedel of Boise, ID; brother, Everett Johnson of Stillwater, OK; a brother-in-law, David Boid of New Braunfels, TX; as well as many special nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and dear friends.
Betty was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Stanley and Fern Johnson.
Blessed be the memory of Betty Beatta Boid.
