A Celebration of Life Service for Betty Erickson, age 91, of Elk River, formerly of Windom, will be held at the LaCanne Family Celebration of Life Center of Windom, on Friday, February 6th, at 11:00 AM, with a time of visitation and gathering for one hour prior to the service. Burial will be held at Lakeview Cemetery in Windom.
Betty Lou Erickson was born on October 15th, 1934, in Jackson, Minnesota to the late Harold and Elsie (Kaderabek) Ware. Betty attended and graduated from Windom Area High School in the class of 1953.
Betty was blessed with one daughter, Jill. She instilled the values of family always comes first, and enjoying the simple things in life. She was a woman of faith, and always valued the church, and God.
She lived in many places throughout her life, including Jackson, Windom, Minneapolis, Richfield, Edina, and Elk River. She worked mostly as a secretary at Ministers Life Insurance Company, and for the Telecommunications companies: Honeywell and Contel.
Everyone that knew Betty, knew she was a down-to-earth woman, loved game shows, puzzles, bargain hunting, thrift stores, one liners under her breath, and of course, chocolate and clothes. Her favorite hobby of all was spending time with her beloved grandchildren. She loved all things deeply, and with her whole heart.
Betty Erickson passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 27th, 2026, at her home in Elk River.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Jill Ressen (Adam Reid), of Elk River; grandchildren and bonus grandchildren, Payton Ressen, Sebastian Ressen, Sommer Bickman, Cayden Reid; sisters, Shirley Ware of Windom, her daughter: Lindsay Zumnrunnen, her granddaughters: Autumn, Summer, and Winter; sister-in-law, Susan Ware of Westbrook, her son, Ryan (Jenny) Ware, and her granddaughter, Jessica; her dog, Mackerous George; and all of her special and cherished friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents Harold & Elsie Ware; siblings, Donna May Ware, Stanley "Butch" George Ware and his son Justin Ware.
Blessed be the memory of Betty Lou Erickson.
