Betty King, 90, of New Prague, MN, formerly of Windom, MN, passed away on December 5, 2015.
Betty was born April 18, 1925 in Lewisville, MN to parents Hazel and Tyler Williams Sr. She was the oldest of 8 siblings. As a young teenager, Betty made Jesus Christ her savior and was baptized in Truman, MN along with her brother, Tyler Jr. and father. She attended school in Truman and helped raise 7 brothers and sisters. As a young woman, Betty met her first love, Harold Rasche, while going to outdoor movies and eating ice cream. They were married January 24th, 1943 in Fairmont, MN. They continued to live in the Truman, Fairmont, Sherburn area and had 4 sons and 1 daughter. They later moved to the Windom area where they lived out the rest of their life. Harold suddenly passed away in November of 1979.
Betty went on to become a nurse's aide when she met her second love, Melvin King, through a friend at church. They were married May 8th, 1982. After Melvin retired, they traveled the U.S. and enjoyed nature, family and friends. Melvin passed away in May of 2015 at which time, Betty made residence at the Good Samaritan nursing home of Windom, MN. She later moved to Mala Strana nursing home in New Prague, MN to be closer to her children.
Betty continued to live a full life until Thurs, December 3rd. On Saturday, December 5, 2015, during the evening, Betty peacefully passed on to her new life and home in heaven.
Betty was preceded in death by her grandparents; parents, Hazel and Tyler Williams; husband Harold Rasche; husband, Melvin King; son, Gary Rasche; sisters Maxine Malmanger and Elaine Thayer; several beloved in-laws, many friends, niece, grandson and great-grandson.
Surviving are 3 sons, Claude (Gail) Rasche, Longmont, CO; Bruce (Linda) Rasche, Savage, MN; Keith (Judy) Rasche, LeSuer, MN; daughter Cheryl (Tim) Benson, Burnsville, MN; step-son Deloy (Ellen) King, Windom, MN; 19 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; brothers Tyler (Betty) Williams, Willmar, MN; Dean (Sandy) Williams, Renville, MN; Dale (Geneva) Williams, Mansfield, OH; Marvin Williams, Red Wood Falls, MN, sister Joan (Larry) Krenz, Redwood Falls, MN; nieces and nephews and beloved pet, Kit-l-ee.
Betty will be remembered most by her inner and outer beauty, her smile and many stories of times past.
