Obituary

Beulah Margaret (Gundermann) Huls passed away at her home surrounded by her family on Friday, March 12, 2021 at the age of 84. On March 18, 1936, Beulah was born to Ernest and Rose (Hellwinckel) Gundermann at the Slayton Hospital. She grew up in rural Westbrook and was baptized in the Christian faith as an infant. In 1950, Beulah was confirmed. She attended Country School and Westbrook High School, graduating in 1954. On January 19, 1957, Beulah was united in marriage to Edward Huls at the American Lutheran Church in Westbrook. From this unity came five sons and two daughters. In 1965, Edward and Beulah moved to a farm outside of Jeffers in Amboy township, where she lived the rest of her days. Beulah was strong in her Christian Faith and active in the Trinity Lutheran Church in Jeffers as well as the American Bible Society and Lutheran World Relief. She used her singing talents throughout her years at numerous weddings and funerals. "The King is Coming" was a very special song to her. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and knitting. Family was always in her daily prayers and a large portion of her life! After raising her children, she watched many of her grandchildren and cherished the last 16 years watching her great grandchildren grow! Beulah is survived by her husband of 64 years, Edward of Jeffers; Children: Paul (Sue) Huls of Jeffers; Michael (Wendy) Huls of Rochester; Martin Huls of Jeffers; David (Laura) Huls of Farmington; Maria (Ivan) Carter of Jeffers; and Leonard (Shelly) Huls of Mankato. Grandchildren: Kristin (Tyler) Snell, Emily (Gee) Lewis, Lucas (Kaitlyn) Huls, Brent Huls, Allan (Nikki) Huls, Jeana (Mark) Nylen, Carl Huls, Joel (Ashley) Huls, Jesse (Jessica) Huls, Shawn Huls, Katrina Miller, Sarah Huls, Kyle (Christina) Huls, Erik (Katie) Huls, Calista (Tyler) Hett, Brian (Dava) Huls, Leah (Dahlton) Bell, Joshua (Brittney) Carter, Alicia (Jake) Swenhaugen, Caleb Huls, Kendra Huls, Carter Huls.37 Great-Grandchildren; sisters-in-law: Anne Hansen of Westbrook; Lorraine Rindfleisch of Minneapolis; and Ruth (John) Smith of Windom. And many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter, Stephanie; great grandson, Trevor Donkersloot; brother Eugene (Muriel) Gundermann; sister Eunice DeFriess; sisters and brothers-in-law: Evelyn (Tom) Easterday, Vernon Hansen, and Irene Frodermann.
