Obituary

Blanche Eileen Meyer was born on January 25, 1946, in Boyden, Iowa to the late Donald and Wilma (DeRoos) Dunnick. She received her education at Boyden-Hull Public Schools. She joined the carnival for several years, where she made many wonderful friends and memories. She once had the opportunity to be shot out of a cannon but declined. She later attended Clifton College in California and lived in several places in California and Arizona. Blanche later met Nick Meyer through mutual friends, and on November 25, 1996, they were united in marriage at Amo Lutheran Church in rural Storden. They made their home at Nick's home place south of Storden. For several years, Blanche drove Medi-Van before retiring. She had many enjoyments in life, which included her many dogs, karaoke, the occasional trip to the casino, doing artwork, crocheting, and collecting frogs. Blanche was a longtime dedicated member of the Amo Lutheran Church in rural Storden where she was a past treasurer and member of WELCA. Blanche currently was a resident of the Westbrook Good Samaritan Society in Westbrook where she passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 9th, 2022, at the age of 76 years. Survivors include her husband of twenty-five years, Nick Meyer of rural Storden; three stepchildren, Jen Zupfer (Scott) of Mapleton; Josh (Kate Lincoln-Goldfinch) Meyer of Austin, TX; Chris (Zach Herbst) Meyer of Minneapolis; two siblings, Butch (Pat) Dunnick of Hutchinson and Jackie Conrad of rural Storden; six step grandchildren; one step great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. Blanche was preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, Clairneil, Bob, and Chuck Dunnick. Blessed be the memory of Blanche Meyer.
