Bonnie Lou Bergendahl was born on August 11, 1940, in Jackson, Minnesota to the late Ralph C. and Gladys (Phillips) Baldwin and received her education in the Jackson Public Schools. On October 28, 1956, Bonnie was united in marriage to Lyle H. Bergendahl in Jackson, Minnesota. After marriage Bonnie and Lyle lived in Jackson until moving to the Clear Lake/Jackson area, before moving to St. Louis Park and then to Minot, North Dakota and then New Prague. In 1966, they moved to Windom and to the family farm in rural Windom in 1969 where Bonnie lived until the present time. Lyle passed away on September 16, 1974. After his death, Bonnie became good friends with ONeil "Oats" Flatgard until he passed away in 2001. Through the years, Bonnie worked at TORO from 1974-2007 when she retired after thirty plus years. Bonnie also enjoyed helping when needed at Hillside Greenhouse in Windom. Recently, Bonnie had hip surgery and was hospitalized at the Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Mankato where she passed away on Tuesday, November 5th, 2019 at the age of 79 years. Bonnie was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church in Windom where she was a Deacon in earlier years and a member of the Ladies Circle. Bonnie had many enjoyments in life which included gardening-she was known for her "green thumb", horse trail rides a lot in her younger years, her animals, and traveling with "Oats" to places such as Las Vegas, Norway, Alaska and seeing the sights. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bonnie is survived by her three children, Jeff Bergendahl of Windom; Doug (Heidi) Bergendahl of Windom; Lisa (Scott) Fredin of Windom; 8 grandchildren, Cody Bergendahl, Colt (Megan) Bergendahl, Mikayla and Shawna Bergendahl, Tanner Jenkins, Jessica (Jay) Keller, Austin Fredin and Nicole Bergendahl; 5 great-grandchildren, Paxton, Weston and Griffin Keller, Beckham and Presley Bergendahl; four siblings, Jerry (Pat) Baldwin of Hampton, FL; Evelyn Fransen of Jackson; Marilyn (Donald) Dahlin of Jackson; Rhonda Withers of Rockford, IL; three sisters-in-law, Connie Ward, Janet Hartberg and Sherri Bergendahl; and many nieces and nephews. Bonnie is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lyle Bergendahl; infant son, Roger Bergendahl; brother-in-law, Leland "Teel" Fransen; and special friend, ONeil "Oats" Flatgard.
