Bonnie L. Hedquist, the daughter of Frank and Rachel (Egdorf) Franzen, was born on September 25, 1932, in Primghar, Iowa. She grew up on a farm and attended country school along with one year in the Fulda Public Schools.
Bonnie was united in marriage to Rueben Hedquist on November 15, 1975, and lived in Wilder, Minnesota after their marriage. Bonnie taught Sunday School and had many enjoyments in life which included, her various jobs, playing BINGO, canning, sewing, and playing cards. Bonnie loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Bonnie was a longtime member of the American Lutheran Church in Windom.
On July 6, 2022, Bonnie entered hospice care at the Murray County Hospice House in Slayton, Minnesota. She remained there until passing away peacefully, with her family at her side, at the age of 89 years.
Bonnie is survived by her 6 sons, Perry (Cindy Bullerman) Schweigert of Fulda; Les (Sue) Speckmeier of Fulda; Bradley (Brenda) Schweigert of Fulda; Kevin (Susan) Schweigert of Fulda; Paul Schweigert of Windom; Clare (Candi) Schweigert of Alexandria; 14 grandchildren; 10 ½ great-grandchildren; 2 step-children, Rhonda Hinton and Teresa (Brian) Rogers and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; 3 brothers, Wayne (Twyla) Franzen of Woodbury; Larry Franzen of Heber, AZ; Ricky (Marge) Franzen of Crestone, CO; three sisters, Betty Getzel of Fulda; Evelyn "Evie" Barnes of Fulda; Marlyse (Jerry) Frey of Hoyt Lakes; and many nieces and nephews.
Bonnie is preceded in death by her parents; three husbands, Rueben Hedquist, Edward Schweigert and Lester "Lolly" Speckmeier; one brother, Lloyd Franzen.
