Obituary

A Celebration of Life Service for Brian Sundahl, age 75, of Jackson, will be held on Tuesday January 20th, at 11:00 AM at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Jackson, with a time of visitation and gathering for a half hour prior to the service. Burial will be held at Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Jackson.

Brian Luther Sundahl was born on Wednesday, September 13, 1950, in Windom, MN to Luther and Jeanette (Jensen) Sundahl. He attended school in Storden, MN until 1964, when he transferred to Westbrook, MN and graduated there in 1968. After high school, he served in the United States Army from 1970 to 1972. Brian resided in Jackson throughout his adult life.

On October 4, 1975, Brian was united in marriage to Debra Benson at the Lutheran Church in Revere, MN. Brian and Debra were blessed with 3 children, Matthew, Kari and Bridget. Brian worked at Ag-Chem/AGCO as a Machine Operator in the Fabrication Department for 38 years, retiring in 2012. He was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Jackson.

Brian had an active social life. He enjoyed his daily drives around town, pressing his luck on lottery tickets and watching game shows and sports on TV. In his younger years, Brian enjoyed attending sprint car races and fishing for bullheads. He was a JCC Huskies fan and never missed a game on the radio, always eager to share the excitement of a win with friends and family.

Brian passed away on Wednesday, January 14, at Ava's House in Sioux Falls, SD at the age of 75.

Brian is survived by his son, Matthew (Tara) Sundahl of Minot, ND; daughters Kari (Kevin) Ahrens of Jackson, MN, Bridget (Eric) Hanson of Sioux Falls, SD; grandchildren, Brekkyn Sundahl, Carter Ahrens, Audrey Sundahl, Brianna Hanson, Mylee Hanson, Owen Sundahl; sister, Sheila Sundahl, and many other relatives and good friends.

Brian is preceded in death by his wife, Debra; parents Luther and Jeanette Sundahl and brother Thomas Sundahl.
