Bruce G. Olson age 79 has changed his address to his eternal resting place. Bruce passed away at Sanford Hospital from complications of a stroke. Bruce participated in his transition by reciting the Lord's Prayer. Bruce was a life-long resident of Windom, Minnesota. Graduating in the High School class of 1962 and was drafted into the Army in 1966. Bruce was stationed in Frankfurt Germany for 2 years followed by 2 years in the National Guards. Bruce assisted in managing bowling alleys in Windom and Worthington and worked at the American Legion. The last 16 years 3 months of employment was with the Hi-Way Department in Windom where he developed rewarding relationships with his peers. Bruce retired at 62 years of age and spent much of his time being an avid sports fan and caring for his beloved dogs. Preceded in death by Merrill (Scotty) Olson, father, Violet (Warden) Olson, Purrington, Mother, Shantel Wylie, niece. Survived by his sister Shannon (Olson) Wylie, who he mentored in her endless questions about government and politics, 2 nieces, Heather Leider (Laurence), Bridy Dawson (Shannon) 7 great nieces and nephews and 6 great, great nieces and nephews and his friends. Bruce will be buried at Fort Snelling during the summer. Notice will announce future date of burial. Memorials preferred to Windom Food Shelf.
