Bruce Noble
Swenson
Dec 2, 1951 — May 30, 2025
A Celebration of Life Service to honor the life and legacy of Bruce Swenson age 73 of Lamberton, will be held at the Highwater Lutheran Church in rural Lamberton on Wednesday, June 4th at 2:00 PM, with a time of visitation and gathering from 12:00 – 2:00 PM. Burial will be at the Highwater Lutheran Cemetery in rural Lamberton.
Bruce Noble Swenson was born on December 2, 1951, in Springfield, Minnesota to the late Victor William and Viola Ruth (Senst) Swenson. He received his education in the Jeffers Public Schools. Bruce was baptized and later confirmed at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Jeffers in 1967.
On September 9, 1972, Bruce was united in marriage to Brenda Kay Casey. To this union were born two children, Brandie and Ray. This marriage was later dissolved. Brenda passed away on June 28, 2002.
Through the years, Bruce made his home in the rural Lamberton area. He worked several years as a heavy machine operator for A.F. Scheppman & Son Const. Co. based out of Heron Lake, MN. After 1975, he dedicated the remainder of his life to raising his family and assisting his uncles on the Swenson Bros. Farms. Bruce was a simple man, a devoted father whose impact extended beyond his immediate family. He may have "rested his eyes" a bit too much when watching his granddaughter, Taylor Swenson and great-niece, Miranda Harrison, as that added to the stories he told. Bruce's other enjoyments in life were the love of his Cocker Spaniel (and Red) dogs, Copenhagen snuff, singing and listening to music, gardening, fishing, collecting tools, watching football (Vikings), and countless Western classics.
As we bid farewell to Bruce Noble Swenson, we take comfort in the memories he leaves behind and the lessons imparted. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew him. Bruce passed away peacefully with his daughter by his side on Friday, May 30th at Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Bruce is survived by his two children, Brandie (Jon Johnson) Swenson of Storden; Ray (Fred Kretzmann) Swenson of Brainerd; one granddaughter, Taylor Swenson of Mankato; one sister, Rhonda (Kim) Phipps of Centennial, Colorado; one Cocker Spaniel, Tude of rural Jeffers; and many more relatives and friends.
Bruce is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Brenda Kay Swenson; brother, Virgil Swenson (in infancy); sister, Ruth Ann (Robert) Harrison; one baby evergreen tree (may Jesus forgive Taylor and Miranda).
Blessed be the memory of Bruce Noble Swenson.
