Obituary

Carol Jean Rogotzke was born on May 9, 1939, to Edgar and Viola (Petersen) Miller in Lamberton, MN. She attended school in Lamberton and Sanborn where she participated in cheerleading and glee club. She graduated from Sanborn High School in 1957.

After graduation, Carol worked as a telephone operator in the Twin Cities until her marriage to August (Augie) Rogotzke on August 15, 1959. Augie and Carol made their home in rural Jeffers where they farmed for many years. Together they were blessed with eight children whom Carol dedicated her life to raising. Following Augie's death on May 4, 1990, Carol moved her home into town and worked as a paraprofessional at Red Rock Central Public Schools for a number of years until her retirement.

In her early years, Carol enjoyed gardening, and was known for her famous homemade pickles. In her later years, she enjoyed reading, crosswords, the cooking channel, and spending time with Bob. She was an avid sports fan, especially the Minnesota Vikings, Gophers Volleyball, and tennis. Carol will be remembered by all for her sense of humor and her funny greeting cards. To her children, she will be remembered for her love of family. To them, she was a model of inner strength, determination, and perseverance. Her unyielding devotion and selfless care for them taught them lessons they carry with them today. Her children do indeed arise and call her blessed. Pr. 31:28

Carol passed away peacefully with family at her side on Sunday, October 16, 2022, at Countryside Retirement Community in Sleepy Eye, MN. She was 83.

Left to cherish Carol's memory are her children, Rhonda (Bill) Suess of Comfrey, Tim (Christine) Rogotzke of Lakeville, Cindy (Steve) Carter of Maple Lake, Valerie Sohl of Fergus Falls, Teresa (Brad) Hewitt of North Mankato, Tracie Rogotzke of Ft. Myers, FL, Carrie (Todd) Natvig of Augusta, KS; 19 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.
