A Celebration of Life Service to honor the life and legacy of Carole Krueger, age 81, of Windom, will be held at LaCanne Family Celebration of Life Center in Windom on Friday, September 4th at 2:00 PM, with a time of visitation and gathering from 1:00 - 2:00 PM. Burial will be in Saint Peter's Lutheran Cemetery in Delafield Township in rural Lakefield.
Carole J. Krueger was born on April 7, 1945, to Herbert and Alice (Zahorsky) Krueger in Jackson, Minnesota. Along with her brothers and sisters, Carole grew up on the family farm in rural Lakefield. Growing up on the farm instilled in her a strong work ethic. Carole was always willing to pitch in and help, and when there was a job to be done, she stayed with it until the work was finished.
In later years, Carole was very proud of her little yellow house in Windom and enjoyed making it her home. She also loved spending time outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. For 25 years, she shared those activities and many good times with her partner, Kenny Roll, until his passing. They enjoyed each other's company and shared many special memories together. Carole always liked to remind Kenny not to argue with her because she was German and she was sure she would win the argument.
On August 19, 2026, Carole passed away peacefully at the Good Samaritan Society in Windom, where she had been a resident.
Carole is survived by her brother, Lyle (Linda) Krueger; sister-in-law, Theresa Krueger; nieces, Dawn (Tom) Zimmer, Julie (John) Walma, Susan (Mel) Krueger, Teresa (Todd) Hines, Melissa (Dean) Honken, Michelle Miller, Cynthia Miller, and Vicki Krueger; nephews, Paul Voelker Jr., Jamie Voelker, David (Tonya) Krueger, and Robert (Angie) Krueger; along with many relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Alice Krueger; sisters, Helen Robison, Linda (Larry) Miller, and Kathryn (Paul) Voelker; brothers, Wayne Krueger and David Krueger; nephews, Richard Krueger and Cody Haberman; and her longtime partner, Kenny Roll.
Carole will be remembered for her strong work ethic, her independent spirit, and the love she had for her family and the simple things that brought her happiness. She will be missed by those who knew and loved her.
