Christine Leonora (Egenes) Bondhus was born on October 19, 1919, in Storden, Minnesota to the late Sam and Hattie (Thorson) Egenes. She was baptized at an early age and later confirmed at the Amo Lutheran Church in rural Storden. Christine received her education from the District 64 of rural Cottonwood County. On March 17, 1942, Christine was united in marriage to Horace Earp in Abilene, Texas. Horace was killed on June 12, 1944. After his death Christine worked at the Farmers Market in Storden. On May 31, 1952, Christine was united in marriage to John Bondhus at the Amo Lutheran Church in rural Storden. After marriage, Christine and John farmed outside of Storden. Christine kept busy as a homemaker, working at Toro and enjoyed her time with her special nephew, Mark, who made his home with them. John passed away on October 30, 2008, at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield, Minnesota. In November 2008, Christine moved into the Sogge Memorial Good Samaritan Society and lived there until passing away on Tuesday evening, February 3, 2009, at the age of 89. Christine was a member of the Amo Lutheran Church in rural Storden where she was involved with the Circle and Ladies Aid. She enjoyed doing church work, gardening, embroidering, was a great cook and baker, and most of all will be remembered for how loving and caring she was to everyone and her quick wit and sense of humor. Christine is survived by a special niece, Shirley Schoenenberger of Windom; several other nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; one brother-in-law, Elmer Rader of Windom; and other relatives. She is preceded in death by her parents; both husbands, Horace and John; five siblings, Louis Egenes, Selma Eikenes, Lars Egenes, Alma Earp, and Nina Rader; one sister-in-law, Dessie Egenes; two brother-in-law's, Alfred Earp and Pete Eikenes.
