A Celebration of Life Service to honor the life and legacy of Clarine Michelson, age 98, of Jackson, will be held at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Jackson on Saturday, December 14th at 2:00 p.m., with a time of visitation and gathering from 12:30-2:00. Burial will be at Hauges Cemetery in Belmont Township, Jackson County.

In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorial donations in memory of Clarine are preferred to Hauges Cemetery.

Clarine (Schlager) Michelson was born on November 9, 1926, to John and Irma (Wolff) Schlager at their home in Enterprise Township, Jackson County, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed at Hauge Church in Jackson County, Minnesota. Clarine attended country school through the eighth grade in Enterprise Township.

On May 5, 1945, Clarine was united in marriage to Tillman Michelson. The union was blessed with two sons, Eugene and Larry. Clarine was a dedicated farm wife, who took pride in raising her sons and helping on the farm. She worked briefly at the Good Samaritan Society of Jackson before retiring in the late 1980's.

Clarine was a longtime member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Jackson. She was a member of Ladies Aid and sewed many quilts for the church and at home.

Known for her kindness, Clarine had a warm and friendly disposition. She was an outstanding cook, and it was a treat to be on the receiving end of her baked goods. Clarine cherished the holidays with family. She loved farm life and equally loved to sit down and quilt.

On Wednesday, December 11th, Clarine passed away peacefully at the Good Samaritan Society in Jackson.

Left to cherish Clarine's memory are her sons, Eugene Michelson of Jackson, and Larry (Pam) Michelson of Ogema, MN; 7 grandchildren, Jeremy (Katie) Michelson of Jackson, Stacey (Neil) Campbell of Livingston, WI, Brian (Jan) Michelson of Tracy, Randy (Gina) Michelson of Worthington, Wendy (Wade) Ahnupkana of Windom, and Alyssa (Aaryn) Nelson of Sioux Falls, SD; 11 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Alice Anderson; sister-in-law, Marilyn Schlager; and many relatives and friends.

Clarine was preceded in death by her husband, Tillman Michelson (6/11/2010), daughter-in-law, Alice Michelson; granddaughter, Michelle Ingbritson; great-grandson, Dustin Halverson; parents, John and Irma Schlager; brother, Donald Schlager; parents-in-law, Nels and Ada Michelson; brothers-in-law, Edwin Anderson, Harlan (Bonnie) Michelson, Newman (Elaine) Michelson, and Gaylord (Maxine) Michelson; sisters-in-law, Lucille (Everet) Johnson, and Esther (Ralph) Sheldon.
