Obituary

Cole Taylor Baumann was born on February 7, 1997 in Springfield, Minnesota to Brett David and Nicole Lynn (Taylor) Baumann. Since the age of 4, Cole was raised and later continued to live on the same farm place located in rural Storden. He was baptized in Lamberton and confirmed on April 1, 2012 at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Storden. Cole received his education at Red Rock Central, graduating with the Class of 2015. He then furthered his education at Minnesota West Community and Technical College-Canby and received his degree as a diesel mechanic in 2017. He worked as a diesel mechanic for a short period of time before he started working for Kounkel Trucking located out of Iowa. This was a job he truly loved and thought of his co-workers as a second family. Cole became suddenly ill while on vacation with his friends in South Dakota and was later hospitalized at the Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Just days later, he passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at the age of 23 years old. For Cole, besides family, his friends were the most important thing to him, and he was considered "the life of the party." Cole's favorite quote was "I'm not here for a long time, I'm here for a good time." He also loved his job and the time he got to spend traveling and working with his Kounkel Trucking Family. Cole also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and seeing the world. Cole is survived by his dad and mom, Brett and Nicole Baumann of Lamberton; sister, Carley Baumann (and special friend Zach Buller) of Morris; grandparents, Charlie and Louise Taylor of Storden; Betty and the late David Baumann of Lamberton; great-grandparents, Clara Belle and the late Dale Taylor of Storden; Joan and the late Romuald Baumann of Redwood Falls; and many other relatives and friends. Cole is also preceded in death by his brother, Aaron Brett Baumann; grandparents, David Baumann; great-grandparents, Dale Taylor, Lena and Joseph Ayers, Ruben and Eva Dallmann, Romuald Baumann.
