Obituary

Cora Mabel Bacon Brugman was born on May 24, 1920 in Heron Lake, Minnesota to the late Albert O. and Clara A. (Estenson) Frederickson. She received her early education in District #115 in Wilder, Minnesota and graduated from Windom High School in the Class of 1937. Cora was baptized in May of 1920 at the Delafield Evangelical Lutheran Church in rural Wilder and was confirmed in that same church on May 5, 1935. On April 17, 1937, Cora was united in marriage to Lyman Oliver Bacon. This marriage was blessed with five children, Allen, Barbara, Carol, Dale and Elaine. After marriage, they lived in Windom and on March 10, 1971, Lyman passed away. Cora later united in marriage to Eldon Peter Brugman on December 12, 1975. Eldon passed away in 1983. Cora was a longtime member of the Delafield Evangelical Lutheran Church until its closing when she became a member of the American Lutheran Church in Windom. In both churches, she belonged to Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (WELCA) and sang in the choir while a member of Delafield. She was also treasurer of the Delafield Township Cemetery Association for many years and on the executive board of the Windom Hospital Auxiliary where she also served as their treasurer for twenty years.
