Corrine
Holmen
Oct 5, 1929 — Jun 29, 2026
A Celebration of Life Service to honor the life and legacy of Corrine Holmen, age 96, of Windom, will be held Thursday, July 9th at 2:00 PM at the American Lutheran Church in Windom, with a time of visitation and gathering for one hour prior to the service. Guests are encouraged to wear blue in honor and celebration of Corrine's life. Burial will be in Hauges Cemetery in rural Jackson County.
Corrine Berniece Holmen was born on October 5, 1929, to Ludwig and Clara (Hempsted) Erickson. She was baptized and confirmed at Hauge's Lutheran Church near Bergen, where she later met and married the love of her life, Milo Holmen. Corrine attended a Jackson County country school through the eighth grade.
On August 31, 1946, Corrine was united in marriage to Milo Holmen at Hauges Lutheran Church in rural Jackson County, Minnesota. A woman of deep faith, Corrine was actively involved in the life of the church, teaching Sunday school and serving with the Ladies Aid until the church closed in 1969. Following the closing of Hauges Lutheran Church, Pastor Stanley Larson warmly welcomed Corrine and Milo to The American Lutheran Church in Windom, where they became devoted and faithful members.
The couple made their home on the Holmen family farm, where Corrine worked side by side with Milo while raising their three children, Don, Michael, and Lori. She dedicated herself to her family as a homemaker, and after her children were grown up, she began working outside the home. Corrine was employed at Fingerhut and Windom Public Schools before spending 15 years at Dr. J.R. Klassen's dental office, where she retired in 1991.
Corrine treasured her family and friends and looked forward to gathering over a cup of coffee. In earlier years, she and Milo enjoyed traveling, dancing, playing cards, and sharing meals together dining out. She often said that Milo, Don, Michael, Lori, and the Lord Jesus were not only her family, but also her very best friends.
In the early morning hours of Monday, June 29, 2026, Corrine was reunited with her beloved husband, Milo, as the Lord called her home to Heaven.
Left to cherish Corrine's memory are her son, Donald Holmen (and special friend, Penny) of Arizona; daughter, Lori (Steve) Seifert of Windom; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many other dear relatives and friends.
Those who preceded Corrine in meeting our Heavenly Father include her husband, Milo Holmen; son, Michael Holmen; parents, Ludwig and Clara Erickson; brothers, Lloyd and Robert (Elaine) Erickson; sisters, Esther and Dorothy; nephews, Alan and Ken; and niece, Judy.
Corrine lived a life grounded in faith, devoted to her family, and filled with quiet kindness. Her gentle spirit, unwavering love, and steadfast trust in the Lord will be lovingly remembered by all who were blessed to know her. Blessed be the memory of Corrine Holmen.
