A Mass of Christian Burial for Corrine King, age 102, of Lakefield, will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Lakefield on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at 11:00 AM, with a time of visitation and gathering from 9:30 AM – 11:00 AM. A Private Family Burial will be at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Lakefield.

Corrine Rose (Eckhart) King was born on October 28, 1922, to Frank and Rosa (Otto) Eckhart in Hartley, Iowa. She lived a full life in her 102 years, and her life was centered around her faith in God and her family. Corrine was kind and generous and always put others before herself.

She grew up in Hartley and graduated from Hartley High School. She continued her education at the University of Iowa, where she earned a degree in Dietetics and she was a Hawkeye fan through and through.

On January 27, 1947, Corrine was united in marriage to Stanley J. King in Hartley. The couple resided in Lakefield and raised three beautiful daughters, Kathy, Susan and Amy. Corrine was a homemaker and worked as a part-time dietician.

As a longtime resident of Lakefield, Corrine was very active in the community and within St. Joseph's Catholic Church. She served on many committees and held offices within the parish. Her interest in dietetics led her to be a volunteer at the Lakefield meal site and the food shelf. Corrine loved watching sports, especially when her grandchildren were playing, and she enjoyed golf. She was an avid Minnesota Twins baseball fan and watched or listened to all the games. One of her favorite pastimes was crafting, and she spent hours engaged in creative projects. Corrine enjoyed playing cards in many card groups.

Corrine lived at Valley View Assisted Living in Lakefield for ten years. She loved living at Valley View and regularly participated in bingo and other activities. On May 21, 2025, Corrine was called home by the Lord, surrounded by her family at Valley View, at the age of 102 years.

Left to cherish Corrine's memory are her daughters, Susan (Mike) Zarn of Mankato, Amy (Darold) Voss of Lakefield; six grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Jan Stueve; brother-in-law, Roy Stueve; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other family members.

Corrine was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley J. King; daughter, Kathy King Hjelle; her parents; four brothers; one sister; as well as many other relatives and dear friends.

In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorial donations in memory of Corrine are preferred to the JCC Stan King Field and to the St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery Fund.
