Curtis
Ohlenkamp
Feb 20, 1928 — Apr 11, 2024
Curtis Edwin Ohlenkamp was born in rural Alpha to the late Ernest and Anna (Bergmeier) Ohlenkamp on February 20, 1928. He was baptized on April 1, 1928, and later confirmed on May 31, 1942, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Alpha. He graduated from Jackson High School. He was a member of the Football team, passionate about FFA and worked on the family farm growing up.
After graduation, Curtis worked on the family farm before serving in Korea through the Army. After his return home, he was united in marriage to Deanna Sirovy on September 10, 1967.
Curtis was humble, hard-working, dedicated, and had a great sense of humor. He served the Church in many ways over the years, as an Elder, a choir member, and President of the Congregation at Trinity Lutheran Church in Alpha. He was a bookkeeper for many years on the Wisconsin Township Board. Curtis retired from farming in the '90s but was always aware of what was happening on the farm.
Curtis Ohlenkamp passed away peacefully on April 11, 2024, in his home in rural Alpha, Minnesota.
Curtis is survived by his son, Kyle Ohlenkamp of Shakopee; grandchildren, Dylan Ohlenkamp of Bemidji, and Abigail Ohlenkamp of Saint Cloud; sisters, Ora Ohlenkamp of Mankato, and Ruth (Clyde) Wiggins of Englewood, CO; sisters-in-law, Dolores (Richard) Canaday and Debra Sirovy-Kruse of Jackson; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Curtis is preceded in death by his wife of nearly 42 years, Deanna; parents, Ernest and Anna Ohlenkamp; parents-in-law, Eddie and Della Sirovy; brother, Vern (Mille) Ohlenkamp.
Blessed be the memory of Curtis Edwin Ohlenkamp.
