A Celebration of Life Service for Daniel "Dan" Beam, age 70, of Windom, will be held Monday, June 12th at 11:00 a.m. at the American Lutheran Church in Windom, with Pastor Sarah Larsen Tade officiating.
A time of visitation and gathering will be held Sunday, June 11th from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the LaCanne Family Celebration of Life Center in Windom. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the service on Monday from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the church in Windom.
Daniel Darwin Beam was born January 15, 1953, to Darwin and Bernice (Lubben) Beam, in Heron Lake, Minnesota. Daniel was confirmed in 1968. He attended Windom Area High School.
On September 2, 1972, Dan was united in marriage to Kathleen Nadine Haas, at The American Lutheran Church of Windom. Dan and Kathy were blessed with four children, Jeremy, Joshua, Melissa, and Melanie. The couple lived in a few different places in rural Windom before buying their home in 2003, which turned out to be their forever home. Dan farmed with Kathy from 1971-1991. They also owned and operated Dan's Garden Patch from 1983 until his retirement. Dan worked for 26 years in road construction as a heavy equipment operator and retired in 2017.
Dan enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson bikes. He liked gardening and spending time hunting, fishing, and canoeing with his buddies, Steve Biedel and John Lesch. Dan loved being on the river and spending time on "The Knob".
On June 6, 2023, Daniel passed away peacefully in his home, under hospice care.
Left to cherish Dan's memory are his wife of 50 years, Kathy (Haas) Beam; three children, Joshua Beam of Windom, Melissa Beam of Windom, and Melanie Beam of Windom; three grandchildren, Angel Beam, Ania Beam and Annebel Nelson; siblings, Carol (Bob) Dueth of Sherwood, OR, and Darla (Gene) Pfeiffer of Windom; as well as many relatives and friends.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Darwin and Bernice (Lubben) Beam; son, Jeremy Beam; in-laws, Mary & Lyle Snook; and siblings, Marlin Beam, Donna Beam and Bonnie Geske.
