Daniel Lee Johnson was born on February 24, 1975, in San Antonio, Texas to Jeffery and Nguyen-thi-An Johnson. The family then moved to Jackson, Minnesota. He was baptized in Worthington and later confirmed at Salem Lutheran Church in Jackson. Dan attended Jackson Public Schools, where he competed in wrestling and football, then graduated with the Class of 1993. After high school, he went on to earn his AA Degree in Agriculture from South Dakota State University.

Moving back home, Dan began working for Hansen Farms in Jackson. On August 16, 2003, he was united in marriage to Stephanie Hansen at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Jackson. Together, they were blessed with three children, Cole Daniel, Lauren McKenna, and Gage Walker. Daniel continued working on the farm and became a partner in Hansen-Johnson Farms.

Dan enjoyed raising and showing pigs with 4-H and FFA, all around the country. When he wasn't busy with the farm, you could find him helping coach youth wrestling, in the fishing boat, or out hunting with family and friends. He loved being outdoors, helping his kids with projects and driving around the countryside looking for wildlife. He especially enjoyed fishing on local lakes and watching his kids participate in their sporting events.

Dan will be remembered for his big heart. He could make friends with anyone, his generosity made everyone feel welcome. His family meant the most to him, spending time with them along with his brothers topped everything else.

Dan passed away in his home on Sunday, April 16, 2023.

Left to cherish his memory is Stephanie Johnson and their three children, Cole, Lauren, and Gage of Jackson; father and mother, Jeffery (Martha) Johnson of Jackson; two brothers, Anthony Johnson of River Falls, WI, and Ben Caven (Katie) Johnson of Inwood, IA; mother and father-in-law, Barb Hansen and Gary Hansen of Jackson; brother-in-law, Eric Hansen of Jackson; two sisters-in-law, Courtney (Karl) Lisowski of Vernon Center, MN, and Kim (Paul) Sylliaasen of Brandon, SD; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Dan was preceded in death by his maternal mother, Nguyen-thi-An; grandparents, Doris (LeRoy) Johnson and Lyle and Arlene Larson.

A private, family Celebration of Life Service for Daniel Johnson, age 48, of Jackson, will be held at the LaCanne Family Celebration of Life Center in Jackson with Pastor Nancy Isaacson officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred.
