Obituary

Darlene Marie Sebby was born on October 16, 1922, to the late Herman and Mary (Soboll) Walters in Jackson Minnesota. She was baptized as an infant into the Christian Faith at Trinity Lutheran Church in Alpha on July 08, 1923. She was later confirmed there on October 24, 1937. She attended Country School through the eighth grade. She proudly earned her GED later in life, graduating on May 18, 1994.

Darlene was united in marriage to Glenn Sebby on November 24, 1943. Their marriage was blessed with three boys: Donald, Dale, and Daniel. Darlene loved caring for her family and working on the family farm. Homemaking was her passion. She enjoyed volunteering for the local 4-H, sharing her skills and abilities in baking, crocheting, and reading. She also served her church throughout her years teaching Sunday School, serving as a Ladies Aide, and a release time teacher.

Darlene worked a variety of jobs, spending time at the local Greenhouse and Bakery, at Southwest Technical College, and the Jackson Hospital.

Darlene passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at the Good Samaritan Society in Jackson.

Darlene is survived by her son, Daniel (Kathryn) Sebby of Sioux Falls, SD; three grandchildren, Kevin Sebby, Rachel Mathias, and Garrett Sebby; "special granddaughters", Corrie Axvig, Connie Axvig, and Ashley Termansen; five great-grandchildren, Hunter, Hilary, Tanner, Jaxon, and Tyson; and "special great-grandchildren", Oliver, Halle, Malcolm, and Mackenzie.

Darlene was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Sebby; sons, Dale and Donald Sebby; parents, Herman and Mary Walter; brother, Ervin; sister, Marjorie; half-brothers, William, Federick, and John; half-sisters, Agnes, Dorothy, Martha, and Amanda.

Blessed be the memory of Darlene Marie Sebby.

A graveside service for Darlene Marie Sebby, age 101, of Jackson, will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at Riverside Cemetery in Jackson, Minnesota with Reverend Schuetz officiating.
