A Celebration of Life service to honor the life and legacy of Dean Moller, age 86, of Fairmont, formerly of Blue Earth and Windom, will be held at the LaCanne Family Celebration of Life Center in Windom on Monday, August 11th at 11:00 AM, with a time of visitation and gathering from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Windom.
On August 7, 2025, Dean Roger Moller, age 86, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He passed away peacefully at Lakeview Methodist Health Care Center in Fairmont, Minnesota.
Dean was born on December 17, 1938, in Windom, Minnesota, to Fred and Margaret Moller. He grew up on a farm south of Jeffers and graduated from Jeffers High School. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science from South Dakota State University. Following college, he served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged.
On April 20, 1963, Dean was united in marriage to Marilyn Wells. They made their home in Blue Earth, Minnesota, where they raised their three children, Scott, Steve, and Shannon, on a small hobby farm. Dean enjoyed life on the farm, raising cattle and sheep, gardening, and woodworking.
He served as Faribault County Assessor for 28 years, retiring in 2001. A man of strong faith, Dean was a longtime Sunday School teacher and deacon at First Baptist Church in Blue Earth and Bethel Evangelical Free Church in Fairmont.
Dean is survived by his wife, Marilyn Moller of Fairmont; three children and their spouses: Scott (Julie) Moller of Princeton, Steve Moller of Trimont, and Shannon (Eric) Ylkanen of Chisago City; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marian Tibodeau of Windom and Jorie (G. Kevin) Erickson of Coeur D'Alene, Idaho; a nephew, Brett Tibodeau; and a niece, Kristi Erickson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Grace Margaret Moller, and his in-laws, Jesse and Fern Wells.
