A Celebration of Life Service for DeAnne Thompson, age 85, of Savannah, GA, formerly of Storden, will be held Thursday, October 19th at 11:00 AM at Bethany Lutheran Church in Storden, with Pastor Mark Jamison officiating. Burial will be at Bethany Lutheran Cemetery in Storden.

A time of visitation and gathering will also be held on Thursday, October 19th from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at the church in Storden.

DeAnne Thompson passed away on Saturday, September 30th at St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah, Georgia.

BBeautiful, inside and out. That was our beloved DeAnne Jean Natterstad Thompson. She was born November 17, 1937, in Storden, Minnesota, to the late Johan and Helen Natterstad. After living most of her childhood and teenage life on a Minnesota farm, her family moved west to Seattle, WA, where she would create a vibrant life as a loving wife and mother. DeAnne owned and operated her own beauty salon, Classic Images. She married the late Ralph Firman, and they had three children together. After the passing of Mr. Firman, DeAnne found her way back to Minnesota to heal. Reconnecting with family and friends from her childhood, she found comfort in her Minnesota roots. On January 2, 1993, she married the late Jerry Thompson, and together they created a beautiful life on the farm she knew as her childhood home.

In addition to being a farm wife, she was active in WELCA, a women's group that made quilts to share with people in need. She was also a member of the Women's Auxiliary for the American Legion, in Storden, MN. After the passing of her late husband, Jerry Thompson, DeAnne spent her time soaking up time with family (and the sun) in Savannah, GA. She helped babysit two of her great-grandchildren, while enjoying living with her daughter, DeAnne, and her family. DeAnne passed peacefully into heaven on September 30, 2023.

DeAnne is survived by her daughter, DeAnne (Frank) Warnekros of Savannah, GA; son, Richard (Barb) Firman of Texas; son-in-law, Perry Tonsgard of Northport, WA; stepsons, Scott Thompson of Minnesota, and Jeff (Kari) Stevens of Alabama; stepdaughter, Kathy Carey of Oklahoma; and her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. DeAnne is also survived by her siblings, Jeanette (Terence) Firman, John (Margaret) Natterstad, and Frances (Randall) Bennett; and many other relatives and good friends.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ralph Firman; her second husband, Jerry Thompson; daughter, Deborah Tonsgard; grandson, Jerry Tonsgard; brother, James Natterstad; and sister, Rochelle (Bob) McCollum.
